Gabriela connected the speech to the rise of Carlos Alcaraz. She explained: “It’s a difficult situation. It’s not easy for players of that level to emerge and have such longevity. I’ve seen very few capable of having the mentality of the Big 3 and being able to be equally good.

A tennis player’s career is getting longer and longer: Roger proved it and Rafa and Novak prove it. It was unthinkable before to make such a career. I saw Carlos Alcaraz play in Buenos Aires at the beginning of the season. Everything he’s achieving is amazing.

At Wimbledon he showed his maturity; that maturity that allows you to manage a complicated match against an opponent like Djokovic. We all know his qualities but at Wimbledon he showed something different”.
